RedVelvetVault is not just an app—it’s a redefinition of how we explore and interact with digital art. Developed as a cross-platform immersive art platform using Unity and Firebase, this project mixes game mechanics with gallery experiences, aiming to give both creators and explorers a new space to connect.
Secondary aims include:
• Creating a web-first responsive interface hosted via Firebase Studio with seamless Unity integration.
• Enabling real-time navigation and interactivity through Unity’s game engine within the virtual space.
• Developing artist profiles with embedded social proof and linked shops, balancing credibility and commerce.
• Supporting both curated and user-generated gallery spaces, allowing scalability and flexibility for institutions and independent artists.
• Embedding gamified elements (badges, featured galleries, digital collectibles) to boost user engagement and retention.
THE BIG IDEA
RedVelvetVault began as a response to the limitations of static, flat art platforms. Why scroll endlessly when you could walk through a 3D gallery, pause to explore an artwork, and even connect with the artist behind it?
This gamified platform lets you:
- Walk around digital art spaces (WASD / mobile tap)
- Tap into artwork modals with artist bios + shop links
- Unlock featured galleries and earn collectible rewards
- Experience solo or curated tours without app installs
WHO IS IT FOR?
Artists: Upload art, link your shop, build your profile.
Explorers: Discover curated galleries & hidden collectibles.
Admins: Curate Art in these spaces if you`re a qualified individual. Earn some cut from the art sales.
I followed a layered treatment workflow:
Paper Prototypes → interface logic
Wireframes → layout + data flow
Firebase UI → real-world testing
Unity 3D Gallery → immersive core experience
User feedback (like Noa’s usability session) shaped major updates—from better gallery prompts to visual directional aids within 3D space

RedVelvetVault isn’t just about viewing art—it’s about experiencing it. Built on personal passion for interaction design, this project taught me how spatial UX and real-time data systems can shape emotional, intuitive, and rewarding virtual spaces.
